California & Nevada in February and March

We spent two weeks in each of our two Thousands Trails Parks.  One in Palm Springs and one in Las Vegas.

Our site in Palm Springs was among 1000 producing date palms.

The pool at Palm Springs.

Hiking Palm Canyon on the Agua Caliente Indian Reservation with friends Colin and Joan from England.
Great visit but we missed Wilf and Liz.

Palm Canyon waterfall.

Men's doubles 1st, 3rd, and 2nd place champs.

In the mountains of the San Bernardino National Forest  between TT Palm Springs and TT Idylwild.

In the San Bernardino National Forest.

Entering the town of Idylwild.

One mile from Thousand Trails Las Vegas and six from the strip.

Mt. Charleston Wilderness Area in the National Forest,
northwest of Las Vegas.

We had to re-visit Hoover Dam and see the progress of the new bridge bypass road.

Valley of Fire State Park northeast of Las Vegas.  Don't miss it.

Live long and prosper!  Valley of Fire State Park.

Lots of petroglyphs in the Valley of Fire State Park.

Beautiful sandstone formations and cute people.

Strange formations and people.

More strange people.

From atop the formations.  Just for fun.

On top of the elephant rock.

Hiking and climbing down to Goldstrike hot springs.
They are on the Colorado river near Boulder City.

Rewarding ourselves with a little soak at Goldstrike hot springs.
Water temp is 102 degrees.

A rubbery legged climb and hike back to the car.

Another rock to scale.

  1. I thought the "cute people" and the "strange people" looked an awful lot alike.
