The Big Island

An evening feast at the timeshare condo in Kona.

Timeshare pool area.

Timeshare grounds.

Life is good!  Laundry, and family on the phone.

Visiting one of the National Parks on the Big Island (Hawai'i).

Life is like a box of chocolates.  Forrest was NOT running across the street from the timeshare.

A Palace building in Kona.

Atop Mauna Kea, the highest point in Hawai'i.  Our 40th summit.

The hike was short with minimal elevation gain.  However we drove from sea level to nearly 14,000 ft, so the breathing was labored!

On the summit at 13,796ft!

We never expected this sign in Hawai'i.

Waipio Valley.

Waterfall on the coastal road to Hilo.

Akaka Falls State Park on the coastal road to Hilo.

Cheap?   The lava flow from Kilauea covered nearly all of this neighborhood.

Kilauea lava flow south of Hilo.  No active flows to view.

Another striking sight.

Hot spring in Isaac Hale County Park.  We have soaked in over 40 natural hot springs.
Nice!

Green sea turtle watching.

The Painted church near Captain Cook, HI.

A National Park with great picnic areas and good snorkeling.

Preparing for the picnic.
