Palm Springs, CA area

Palm Springs Area

Thousand Trails-Palm Springs Preserve
We enjoyed two weeks of touring and pickle ball during our stay.

This is a crowded park, but the views are great.

This was a swing and suds afternoon/evening.
Big band music, swing dancing and lessons, and craft beer.

And classic cars-this one is a 1956 Lincoln Mark II,
one of only 3011 custom built.  It is not "old" but
classic because we are disheartened that "old" is newer than we are.
 Thanks Susan.

Somewhere on El Paseo Drive in Palm Desert.

Street fair/flea market at the College of the Desert.

This was our third visit and we did see some of the same things,
but did a little more exploring too.

Looking through the pass and towards Los Angeles.

At Keys View.

A short hike to the "Hall of Horrors"
Judy enters.

Climbing the walls!

The rocks are full of iron and quite sharp.

Dennis makes it out, Judy's turn to climb.

Skull Rock.

A Mountain Jay heads to our picnic table to see if we left
an morsels as Dennis heads up for a better view.
It was a great place for our packed lunch.

Split  Rock  2017

2003

Judy is trying to add another rock to the top of that boulder.
She almost made it, but came closer to hitting
her own head as the rock dropped.

Arch Rock

Nice walk and climb.

Atop Arch Rock 2017.

And May 2003.

One of our last stops in the Park before heading home.

Back at home.  The next day was for relaxing
and feasting on grilled Mahi.

On the summit of Ryan Mountain's peak in 2003.

Blooming Joshua tree in March 2007.

2007

is administered by the BLM.

Only one of the interesting city limits signs!

Judy is at it again-snake hunting, no luck.
We were touring the Visitor's Center for the
Santa Rosa & San Jacinto Mountains National Monument.

Enjoying the view from Coachella Valley overlook.

This was our last sight seeing tour before heading through
the pass to Menifee, CA for two weeks.
