Southern Indiana friends and family

Back to our home state to visit family and friends.
Memories!

Our route through our home state.

Juanita's 80th birthday party, celebrated with Catherine,
Judy, Susie, and the birthday girl on the right.

Delivering Juanita's birthday present on the real day.

Judy and Catherine picking blueberries in New Salisbury.
Just yummy in any baked goods, but most terrific fresh.

Dennis' brother, Eric, (driving) Dennis, Judy, and Brie
on Eric's pontoon cruising Rough River Lake in Kentucky.
Brie is Eric and Martha's granddaughter.  Martha is the one hiding!

Beginning of the OH HELL! games with
 Dennis' brothers Stephen and Eric.

The next six pictures are from the Heinze reunion
held on the 14th of July and attended by 62 relatives.

Great food.

Good company.

Kids and fun.

Relaxation.

And total relaxation.
The newest member, Stonewall Oenomaus Dohoney.
He is Judy's great-great nephew.

Signature pose, while hanging a new swing in
a beautiful maple tree on the farm
of Jim and Lynda Turner.  Laconia, Indiana.

Long time friends Lynda and Jim Turner,
along with their new neighbor, Larry.

Visiting Corydon, founded by Governor William Henry Harrison.
Corydon was the second Territorial Capital of Indiana
(Vincennes was first) and the first State Capital.

William Henry Harrison House and Branham Tavern.
It has been expanded and remodeled and is now a gift shop.
From the looks of the banner, it may be something else when we come back again to visit.

We enjoyed an ice cream at Dennis' first cousin's
 famous Emery's Ice Cream Shop.
Both Judy and Dennis enjoyed the hand-dipped
flavors of Emery's in New Albany while growing up.
Kevin now continues the tradition in the historic district of Corydon.

Judy, Kevin Paul, and Jason Popp (nephew).
Jason recommended their chocolate covered cherry waffle cone.
So do I.

Dennis and Robert erecting a green house at
Robert's (Judy's brother) place in Bradford.

Lunch and a visit with long-time friend, Betty McMahel, in New Albany.

Visiting Douglas (Judy's brother)
and Paulette Dohoney's home in Salem.

Douglas, Paulette and Dennis in their day lily garden.
I have some freshly picked goodies from the vegetable garden.

Brother and sister.

Catherine Dohoney Brown at her birthday celebration.
We are celebrating at Buckhead Brewery in Jeffersonville, IN.

Catherine and her daughter, Jan Fetz Gabhart
and her granddaughter, Karen Cooke Campbell.

Another birthday celebration.
Sisters, Juanita Yost, Sue Roberts, Judy Paul,
and the birthday girl, Catherine Dohoney Brown.
The Louisville skyline is in background.

Saint Mary's Navilleton annual church picnic.

Church ladies' cakes--many more beyond the camera.

Saint Mary's Navilleton picnic pony rides under the
chestnut trees.

No luck winning that toy, quilt, bingo cash, or cake.
  :(

Much better luck in Judy's brother's (John L.) garden.
Harvesting the freshest sweet corn possible.
This brother's home is in Greenville, not far from his home place.

Blackberries--another YUM!

For some reason we did not get pictures of Jack and Joann
 and Judy's home place.
However we enjoyed desert, cards, freshly-picked green beans,
 free-range organic brown eggs,
and likely other goodies I have forgotten.
 Thanks!

Jim and Lynda Turner's newly completed barn/workshop.
We spent three days at the farm visiting and working.

Installing doors in a tobacco barn being
converted to a hay and storage barn.

Hinges are installed, now cut the doors free to swing.

Jim and Lynda documenting and supervising land clearing.

Monty and Melissa (Dennis' sister) visiting and joking
during our stay at Indian Lakes Thousand Trails.

About 12 miles from our RV park is the historical town of Oldenburg.
We spent the day there sight-seeing and lunching.  Here are a few pictures.

Overlooking the village.

In the church yard--the town began here.

Our lunch spot.

Just served.  Dennis had a German sausage sandwich topped
with mozzarella cheese, bacon, pineapple and barbecue sauce.
It sounded weird but tasted great.
It was better than Judy's German link sausage
 with mozzarella and sauerkraut.

Yep, that's us.
