Central Arizona

Route through AZ--so far!

Verde Valley Thousand Trails entrance--like going home.

New trail friend, Miroslav Kostic, on the hike to
Devil's Bridge.  We are in the Red Rock Country
 of the Coconino National Forest
 surrounding Sedona.

It was a sunset hike and the colors were beautiful.

The Devil's Bridge.

Of course, we were on it.

Still on the bridge.

Nearby blooming cactus.

Getting off of the bridge!

And under the bridge.

Red Rock Loop scenic drive.

Ready to climb Bell Rock and meditate at the vortex.

Courthouse Butte near Bell Rock.

On Bell Rock, meditating?

Indian Paintbrush, near our climb.

On Bell Rock with Courthouse Butte in background.

Definitely meditating in the vortex!

REALLY mediating!  It's a merlot.

Our view while meditating.

Prescott, AZ.  It was the Capital of the Arizona Territory.

The Governor's Mansion, now a museum.

Entering "The Palace Bar".
It is on Whiskey Row, a block's worth of saloons and brothels.
Most are now converted to shops.

The Palace Bar.  "Junior Bonner" starring Steve McQueen
was filmed here.

That is not Miss Kitty.  There are still bullet holes in the tin ceiling.

Leaving the Palace--great swing doors.

Back on Whiskey Row.

Another Sedona hike.  This time a short walk on
The Little Horse Trail to Chicken Point.
The scenery was terrific but the walk boring, so
when we arrived at Chicken Point we decided to climb
to the saddle between Madonna and the Nuns formation.
We really paid for it in sore muscle currency
the next day!

View from the saddle.

Going up!

More blooms--Yucca.

I even bought new hiking shoes and retired these
after about 5000 miles.  I recommend the brand!

Of course, there was pickleball at Verde Valley.

Becky, Dennis, Paul, [Not Dennis Paul] Casey, and Ed.

Just a couple hundred yards from our motorhome
was the Verde River.  It creates a beautiful change from
the desert that is so close.

The river, the desert, and Judy.

On to the Grand Canyon.
