Florida to Texas

Route through Florida.

Jamie with "lap" dog Koda during visit to our son's
 and daughter-in-law's home in Tallahassee.

Brian and Pergo, the hyper dog.

Another National Park visit.
This one during the flooding rains of mid-March.

Route through Louisiana.

Big flooding in Natchitoches, LA.
We did not have to detour, but came close.

We stopped by the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts.
Hello alumni Niescja.

Downtown Natchitoches, the first city in LA.

A big city hat.
Notice the New Orleans style architecture.

Cane River Creole National Historical Site.
Touring Oakland Plantation.

The plantation house.

Our "normal" pose.
National Park # 358.

Downtown lunch.
Natchitoches is famous for meat pies.
Yum or yuck?

You decide.

Route through Texas.

In to Texas and to the first National Preserve.
There are many species of plant and animals
here from the southeast, the midwest, and the southwest.
Many were forced to the area during the last Ice Age,
then adapted.

We took a short walk in the Big Thicket and came across this log.
"I'd rather be a fence post in Texas than the king of anywhere."
