GEORGIA 2011

Route and stops in Georgia.

It's Carter's Lake, a Corp of Engineers campground,

 and the sites are great.

  Ours was full hook up with 50 amp service.

  They don't even mind if you wash your rig.

This is the Nantahala River gorge. 

 It is beautiful and it is NOT in Georgia.

We stopped for lunch while driving through

 the gorge on our way further north.

TENNESSEE 2011

Route and stops in Tennessee.

In Greenville, TN, and Andrew Johnson National Historical Site and National Cemetery.

Greenville is also the "Capital" of the short-lived state of Franklin.

  It was once part of North Carolina, but felt left out

because they were on the western side of the Eastern

Continential Divide.  They were self-governed, printed their own money, but were never recognized as a state. 

Franklin lasted about three years before becoming part of Tennessee.

This beautiful log building was the "capitol" of Franklin.

FLORIDA 2011

Florida route--heading north.

Before we leave, a few visits are in order.  This one is to a county beach park near Crystal River.

Nine category one springs within two miles forms this pristine river.

Great for paddling, rope swinging (background), tubing, and really cool swimming.

The water is a cool 68 to 70 degrees all year.

Thousands Trails Orlando

We have left the Orlando TT park and are back in Ocala.  Here are

 a few pictures of our last couple of weeks of our winter road trip.
