Arizona and Mexico

This was the guardian of the Apache Pass and
was central to the operations of Army
 operations against the Chiricahua.

In the ruins of the fort that house the army
 that defeated Coshise and Geronimo.

We visited the western portion of the park this trip,
 the Tucson Mountain District.

Walking up Signal Hill, Judy dares again.

As she did in 1999.

I viewed the petroglyphs but saw no rattlesnakes.

A nice walk in the Sonoran Desert.

Great visit with great, great nephew Stonewall
 and great, great niece Aurora.

Gina, the mom.

Taking care of the kids at the diner with Gina's sister, Madison.

Caught eating a GIANT burger.

and corndog.

Just being cute.

Inside playing.

Letter puzzling.

Outside playing.

Bye, bye.

Just adults turn to play in Los Algodones, MX

RV buddies we met while on our Copper Canyon tour in 2005.

We ran into them and more new friends after Judy
was prepped for three crowns at Oasis Dental Group.

Slow dancing.

Singing with the staff are Jo Ann and Nai.
Thanks for dinner and visits with you all and,
 of course, Don and Barb.

One more stop before heading back across the border.

New and old friends waiting in the border crossing line.
It was a long wait, but part of the experience.
For our next two crossings, we drove!

Picture before seating the new crowns.

Trying out the new crowns with fish and shrimp tacos.

We enjoyed running across a German Festival in downtown Yuma.
The entertainment was a little goofy.

A drive through the farm country is always interesting.
This is harvesting, packaging, and
loading onto trucks of iceberg lettuce.

One last trip to Algodones.
This is a new shopping, hotel and restaurant complex
where we parked and had our last Mexican lunch.

And this is the restocking of the bar for well under $50.00.
The Agavero in front is 750 ml but the other bottles are full liters.

TEXAS-mostly

This Encore park has Thousand Trail sites
that allowed us a two week stay.
We enjoyed the Rio Grande Valley with pickleball,
 beaches, history, and warmth.

The Start of the Mexican-American war and
James K. Polk's land grab.  (Manifest Destiny)

The day started foggy.

But cleared to a beautiful warm day at the beach.

The end of the beach day finds us with shrimp tacos
and a cheeseburger in "Parrots Eyes".
That is the restaurant's name.

New Year's Eve dinner and dance
at the clubhouse in Tropic Winds.

This is the original!  You can find out how and
why it is here by following the link.

A rest and picnic overlooking the Rio Grande.

This was made a National Monument in 2009
 is the 100th Monument named.
We did not find any dinosaur footprints!

We've crossed this trail several times, it runs
from Mexico City to Sante Fe.
